Collaborative research centres are a programme of long-term cooperative research in universities and neighbouring academic research institutions. They are funded by the DFG for periods of three years up to a maximum of fifteen years.

Research Training Group (Graduiertenkolleg)

• GRK 775: Hierarchy and Symmetry in Mathematical Models

A research training group is a university graduate training programme established at a centre of scientific excellence in a specific field. It is designed for a number of PhD students at a single university. The students work on their theses within the framework of a coherent and often interdisciplinary research programme. Funding is provided by the DFG.

Priority Programme (Schwerpunktprogramm)

SPP 1253: Optimization With Partial Differential Equations

A priority programme is a nationwide cooperation between its participating researchers in a research area promising to produce particular scientific gain. Funding is provided by the DFG for a period of six years, divided into several funding periods.
